Kadir's Tree House Hotel is a cross between a jungle camp and a summer settlement of the Taurus nomads. The tree houses have been built with imagination and a great sense of humour and come in a variety of sizes and shapes and are clapped together with timber and other assorted materials. Some are perched high on great umbrella pines, others sit on the ground, and even in a beached boat Noahs-ark style. There are also semi-covered platforms for sleeping bags and camping space for tents. The setting is wonderful; in deep forest, beside a cool brook, at the foot of the Taurus mountains. The site is a standing legend within the international backpacking community where Kadir's has been repeatedly voted one of the worlds "grooviest" places to stay. Crowds of 200 are not unusual in August although things are quieter at other times and the staff consists largely of volunteers from all over the world who work to pay for their room and board. Inexpensive vegetarian food is served here all day long and the beach is a 2km walk through the forest-engulfed ruins of Olympus and there is also complimentary minibus service to the highway junction.
