This pretty old stone house has a Mediterranean garden full of bright colours and wonderful scents and sits right next door to the one of the greatest of Turkey's monuements, the Temple of Apollo. At night, once the tour buses have left, guests can secretly enter the temple grounds and revel in the glory of the 2000 year old marble that is there. The Medusa House owners are a Turkish and German couple who happily serve up a mix of Turkish warmth and German sense of detail to guests from the world over and their inn doubles as the headquarters of a local Greek-Turkish friendship initiative. The beach at Didim is 4kms from here and also nearby are the swamplands of the Küçükmenderes delta where vast flocks of aquatic birds, that include the pink flamingo, gather during the winter.
