The Aynalıkavak Pavilion is located in the Haskoy area of Kasimpasa .  The date it was built is not exactly known although Evliya Çelebi, the famous 17th century Ottoman traveller and writer, states that it was built during the reign of Sultan Mehmed II and other sources state it was built by Admiral Halil Paşa in 1613.

The Pavilion gets its name from the mirrors that were gifted to Sultan Ahmed III after the Treaty of Passarowitz was signed and the Mora Peninsula was handed to the Turks by the Republic of Venice.  The Pavilion was built on a slope with gardens full of different kinds of trees and entry inside is through a porch that leads into a wide hall.  {reklam,300,250,1} In the hall are silk covered couches in three corners of the its corners with a poem composed by Sultan Selim III that is written onto the blue painted wall in gold print.   The land-side façade sits on two floors and the sea-side façade sits on three.  The Pavilion has a divan room and an audience hall (Arz Odası) with lovely windows and mirrors, is decorated with calligraphy works and the ceiling is covered by a dome.  In the early 19th century it was called the Has Bahçe and during the rule of Sultan Mahmut II, architect Kirkor Balyan made restoration work but it took its present shape during the reign of Sultan Selim III.

The Pavilion was used as a venue for entertainment during the Tulip Era (or Lâle Devri in Turkish) and the Aynalıkavak Agreement signed by Sultan Abdülhamid I on January 9, 1784 between the Ottoman Empire and Russia took place here.

Today it is a palace-museum and its basement houses the Turkish Music Research Centre and the Museum of Instruments.
