Gordion Museum Ankara
This museum was established next to the small village known as Yassihoyuk in 1963 and offers chronological exhibits and characteristic examples of each period represented.  

Exhibits of Gordion Museum

You will find three displays showing artefacts from the Early Bronze Age, from the period of King Midas and up to the Phrygian era and exhibits of clay jars from the Late Iron Age and cutting tools and instruments used in the making of textiles that belong to the Late Phrygian period.
The Panoramic display is in the exhibition room and has a typical structure that dates back to 7th century BC which was found in the strata from the time of the conquest of the city, and the final section has seals and coins excavated from Gordion. Recent excavations have been planted with cedar, aromatic juniper, Turkish boxwood, Yellow pine, walnut and yew trees, all of which the Phrygians used to make furniture, and the new Mosaics and Celtic Grave is another section that is new to the museum.
There is an exhibition hall, a new exhibition hall, the Phrygian Mosaics, the Administration Offices, Toilets, Storage, the Laboratory and living quarters.  

Opening Hours of Gordion Museum

The museum is closed on Mondays and in summer opens from 08:30-17:30 and in winter from 08:30-17:00 - Tel. No. is 0312 638 2188.
