Akseki Antalya

Akseki Antalya
Akseki is the second oldest district in the province after Antalya , and is in the location of the Taurus Mountains in a forested and very rocky area. Akseki dates back to the Roman period and was known as Marla (Marulya) and has been inhabited since then to the present day and now being developed for the tourist sector.

Winter in Akseki

The region is famous for the snowdrops that grow here and is popular in the winter with tourists and locals who come to see the flowers emerging through the snow; an indication of the first signs of spring.

Hunting in Akseki

In the Giden Gelmez Mountains there is limited licensed hunting available throughout the year, the wildlife mostly seen are mountain goat, rabbit, bear and fox, although the goats are under protection. Also popular with visitors are the trout farms in the villages of Sinan Hoca and Gumusdamla and the Ulu Mosque and medreses.

Other Places to Visit in Akseki

Other places worth a visit are the Goktepe and Cimi Highlands, Irmak Valley and the 340m deep Bucaklan Cave which has only recently been discovered.
