Getting to Koprulu Canyon
When you take the turn to Beskonak from the Antalya
highway it leads you to Koprulu Kanyon National Park. The winding road passes through the mountains where green streams flow and virgin forest grows.
The park is 92km from Alanya
and sits in the middle of a valley filled with rich fauna and flora. The canyon stretches for 14km along the Kopru River which at some points reaches 400m deep and there are many fish restaurants along the way. The Oluk Bridge crosses the Kopru River and the Bugrum Bridge crosses the Kocadere Stream, both bridges are a wonder of engineering dating from ancient times.
Selge and Dedgol Mountains closeby
There are two places that can be reached via the park; the ancient city of Selge
and the Dedegol Mountain chain where the highest peak reaches 2,992m. Selge
or Altinkaya is on the northeast of the park and is one of the important Psidya region ancient cities that sits at a height of 950m and whose ruins include walls, towers, the cistern, a temple of Zeus , an agora, stadium, theatre, gymnasium and necropolis.
