Akyarlar Bodrum

Akyarlar Bodrum
Akyarlar, (formerly the Greek port of Kefalouka) 30km from Bodrum , surrounded by eucalyptus trees and concrete villa estates, is more of a village than a port and has a stone jetty, yacht harbour and mosque.
Due to the breeze there, it is often much cooler than Bodrum, making it a more comfortable place to stay in high summer.

Things to do in Akyarlar

Akyarlar Beach

The hard packed beach here is popular with the windsurfers, but to the east there is Karaincir Beach framed by hills with dark sand and a few pebbles, has snack bars and restaurants or to the west the prettier sandy cove of Simin.

Dining in Akyarlar

The good local cuisine offered here is far more authentic Turkish with much lower prices than can found anywhere east of here.

Camping

On the far south-western cape under the Huseyin Burnu lighthouse there is free access for camping and caravanning.

Accommodation in Akyarlar

There is simple accommodation available as well as a camp site and very few pansiyons just beyond Akyarlar along the coast.
