Bardakci Cove Bodrum

Bardakci Cove Bodrum
When on route to Gumbet the first stop off is at Myndos Gate, known locally as “Dikduru” meaning “stands straight” because it’s still actually standing and next to it in between Bodrum and Gumbet is the location of Bardakci Cove. This is a great place for swimming, is away from the noise and vast crowds, there is a large hotel on the waterfront and it’s suitable for yachts and day trip boats to moor at.

In olden times Bardakci was known as Salmakis that had fresh water springs, and a story tells of Hermaphrodite falling in love with the son of Hermes and because it was not reciprocated she asked the Gods “to unite their bodies and thus they could never be parted” which the Gods granted and ever since then people who are both men and women are known as Hermaphrodites.

Bardakci Bay has a small sandy beach, is surrounded by villas, resorts and hotels and sits on the coastline just 500m from the centre of Bodrum. There are sun-beds, umbrellas, water sports and spa services, cafés, restaurants and bars all available here.
