Bitez Bodrum

Bitez Bodrum
The old name for Bitez, which lies 10km from Bodrum, is Agacli, and means ‘full of trees’. Bitez is the citrus paradise of the Bodrum peninsula and this was certainly true in olden times when the area only had citrus trees.

Things to do in Bitez

Bitez attracts a more upmarket older clientele, and is popular for windsurfing and sailing as the sheltered cove and swallow waters are great for beginners and ideal for families with small children. The Blue Flag beach is very small and is artificially supplemented every year and the use of the sunbeds and umbrellas are free of charge, which is a bonus as you have to pay high prices in other parts of Bodrum.

Between here and Ortakent is Aktur Cove whose shores are filled with the oldest of the summer house complexes in  Bodrum and is a popular spot to stop for a swim with the day trip boats.

Bitez Facilities

Bitez is known as one of the best places for windsurfing; its town is very clean, well set out with many hotels, B&B’s, bars and restaurants and offers ample parking space for cars. In the evening the waterside establishments become lively and have some very good fish restaurants to dine at.

With over 30 hotels, many bars and restaurants and having easy access into Bodrum via the direct dolmus, Bitez is a perfect place to escape from the summertime crowds.
