Village of Mazi Bodrum

Village of Mazi Bodrum
Mazi is one of the prettiest villages of Bodrum, while it is unknown to tourists. As Mazi is the furthest village to Bodrum, it is tranquil and still keeps its authentic feel. Construction is not permitted in this part of Bodrum and the village only has small guesthouses.

Traveling from Bodrum to Mazi

Mazi village is 50 km away from Bodrum centre. If you have a car, there are two roads that you can follow. You can follow the Bodrum Guvercinlik Yenikoy and Mazi village road (which is marked with red on the map) or alternatively, you can follow the Bodrum Yaliciftlik road (marked with yellow on the map). Public transportation is also available. You can take the Mazi minibuses from the Bodrum centre bus stop. There are also boats travelling to Mazi.

Living in Mazi

Residents of this village mainly earn their living from making carpets, agriculture, producing honey and fishing. The town center is located on the hill (to protect themselves from pirate attacks in the old days), and has a stunning view of Gokova bay.

Plcaes to visit closeby

When you leave Mazi, you can take two roads. If you take the road on the left, you will travel through olive and pine trees and reach the beaches of Hurma, Ilgin and Sedef. If you take the road on the right, you can visit the bays of Yasli Yali and Ince Yali. You can also visit Kargili, Feslikan, Kissebuku and Adayali beaches by a fishing boat.  While swimming in Mazi, you might come across a seal called Badem, which loves to swim with the visitors.
