Ildir or Ildiri Cesme

Ildir or Ildiri Cesme
This pretty and picturesque village sits on the shores of the Aegean Sea and is 25km from Cesme’s town centre. It was the location of the ancient Greek city of Erythrai and has ruins from Hellenistic, Roman and Byzantine eras that can that can be seen today in and around the village.

Swimming in Ildiri

Ildir’s beach is one of a few in the region that has no sand, there is a boat service available from the Erythrai Noble Hotel that runs to a nearby island with a stunning sandy beach, the service is cheap and very frequent.

Erythrai City

The ancient ruins of Erythrai can be easily accessed via the village and include an amphitheatre with steep steps leading up to an Acropolis, a Greek Church and Temple of Athena and has fabulous views across the bays and islands far below.

Amenities

The village has several small hotels, restaurants and tea-houses along with a few local shops.
