Calis Beach Fethiye
Today it only has visitors who come to enjoy the beach, its many restaurants that serve excellent Turkish and International cuisine and to soak up one of the 300 days of sunshine this area enjoys every year. In the evening the beach promenade is equally as popular as many come to watch the stunning sunsets here.
Things to Do in Calis BeachCalis is actually part of Fethiye and located on its eastside.
PaspaturFethiye is also a great place to visit with so much on offer; the old town ( Paspatur ) full of narrow lanes with plenty of restaurants and bars, jewellery and souvenir shops and can be reached using the Calis Water Taxi. The taxis are available from the canal that is behind the seafront and you buy tickets from the kiosk, single or return. They usually run every half hour or so and this is certainly an experience not to be missed.
Daily ExcursionsVisitors will find a whole range of different excursion trips on offer from numerous places around Calis that are usually excellent value for money where you are picked up from your hotel and dropped back off and lunch is often included. For those who want to do it themselves, visitors can easily get around using the local bus service known as dolmus (pronounced dol-moosh) which are small white minibuses that run very regularly. Passengers can stop them anywhere along the route and pay their fare directly to the driver and if the bus is so full you can’t reach the driver you can pass your money forward to the person in front and they will keep passing it until it reaches the driver and if there is change it will be passed back the same way.
Water SportsThe hot summer days in Calis make water sports a popular activity offering both adults and children thrills and excitement. The water sport centres can be found on the beach front and specialise in parasailing, jet-ski rides, banana boats and scuba diving for the more adventurous visitors.
