Gunluklu Bay Fethiye

Gunluklu Bay Fethiye
The natural and beautiful Gunluklu Bay is 19kms from Fethiye on route to Gocek and is densely decorated with aromatic storax trees whose Turkish name is “Gunluk Agaci” and from where the bay takes its name, the trees branches are so thick in the summer you can barely see the sky through them.

Gunluklu was once a very popular camping area with good quality
facilities but now because of the trees have become quite rare they are now being protected by the local government which has made the bay more of a place used by daily visitors, caravaners and the gulet cruises, although the Department of National Parks continues to adequately operate it as a camping ground.

Gunluklu Bay Attractions

The bay is very popular with the locals who come to picnic and swim on the lovely beach, especially at weekends, and for those who want it less crowded there are plenty of quiet and peaceful inlets around the bay or alternatively visit Gunluklu on a week day.
Other natural attractions nearby are Katranci Bay , the Oyuktepe Coves and the harbour and marina in Gocek village.
Also there is a natural spring on the road heading towards Göcek village where everyone stops to fill up their water bottles and the high quality Bay Beach Club nestled into the forest that has managed not to detract from the natural beauty that surrounds it and is a lovely place to stay.
