Sidyma Ruins

Sidyma Ruins
Sidyma is the remotest of the ancient cities in the Xanthos valley (55 km way from Fethiye center), being rediscovered by Europeans in the 19th century and scarcely visited since and has not, as yet, been properly excavated.

Ruins at Sidyma

Here you’ll find an extremely ruined castle used by the Byzantines as a stronghold, a necropolis, containing a variety of tombs and a Roman imperial temple tomb (heroön) with a walled up doorway on the north side.

Accommodation close to Sidyma

The nearest facilities are in Alinca offering accommodation with pricey fantastic views or there are more modest and less expensive places in Karaagac.
