Yassica Islands Fethiye

Yassica Islands Fethiye
Yassica Islands (Adalar) also known as the Yassicalar, is a favourite stopping place for daily boat trips and visiting yachts and are made up of a group of 5 tiny islands that have no facilities.  

To the south of the group are the islands of Haci Halil, which was given and named after a Turkish man in compensation for having to leave his home and land in Greece during the Turk/Greek exchange of 1923, and the smaller one with two names; Seytanli Ada (Island of the Devil) and Zeytinli Ada (Olive Island) as olive oil is produced here as it was in the past.  

Between these islands are the submerged ruins of a bridge that indicate they were once connected.  

The largest of the group has a small pool that’s great for children to swim in, and it’s very easy to swim between the islands with the shortest distance being only 12 metres. If visitor’s want to walk on the islands it is recommended they wear protective footwear.
