Anadolu Kavagi Istanbul

Anadolu Kavagi Istanbul
Anadolu Kavagi is the final stop of the ‘Bosphorus Tour’ where the boat anchors for a couple of hours. The village has a ramshackle charm about it. The houses with their verandas and boat moorings that overlook the Bosphorus; the main street fish restaurants offering excellent food with the fisherman stalls selling their catch directly to the restaurant owners.
Above the town is the Byzantine fortress giving you great views of the Bosphorus .
It takes about half an hour to walk from the dock to the fortress and on approaching it you see Greek inscriptions and the imperial logo of the Paleologus dynasty (cross with the letter ‘b’ in each corner) which stands for “King of Kings, who Kings it over Kings”). The village is also accessible by ferry or bus.
