Location and Opening Hours

The Asiyan Museum (Tel: +90 (212) 263 69 86) is located in Asiyan - Bebek district on the Bosphorus  opens daily between 09:00-16:00 except Sundays and Mondays.

Exhibits of the Museum

The museum is located in the three storey house previously owned by a famous Turkish poet Tevfik Fikret (1867-1915) who lived there from 1906–1915. The house was purchased from Tevfik’s widow and opened as the Edebiyat-ı Cedide Museum in 1945 and the name was changed in 1961.

The ground floor of the museum is used as offices; 
in the first floor there is a room dedicated to the poet, Nigar Hanim, where her personal belongings, photographs and paintings are on exhibit. Another room has the personal effects and documents of the authors of Edebiyat-ı Cedide. There are also the belongings and papers of the poet Abdulhak Hamit, famed for his Makber poem (The Grave) and his bedroom on the second floor is where he wrote literature and poetry at his desk and is the room in where he died.
