Bagcilar Istanbul

Bagcilar Istanbul
Bagcilar is a working class suburb of Istanbul located behind Bahcelievler on the European side of the city and in between the TEM and E5 major ring roads.  Bagcilar means “vineyards or vine growers” and it’s known for having the highest population of residents in all Istanbul, most of which are from the Eastern Anatolia region.

Bagcilar is home to the largest of Turkey's newspapers and TV channels, and has other industries that include light engineering, textiles and printing; it also has a huge wholesale market that trades dry goods, a large second hand car market, and many freight trucking companies, most of which are located on the Gunesli link road off the TEM motorway leading to Istanbul Airport.

The Metro system has recently opened a stop at Bagcilar which will help to ease some of the slow moving and constant stream of traffic in this area.
