Bayrampasa Istanbul
Bayrampasa is a suburb of Istanbul located on the European side of the city and is made up of working class residential and industrial areas, with a population of over 250,000 that are mainly migrants from Rumelia and Anatolia.

Bayrampasa covers an area of 8 square kilometres and has Eyup to its east, Esenler to the west, Zeytinburnu to the south and Gaziosmanpasa to the northeast.

Bayrampasa is home to Istanbul’s largest prison, although now defunct, has two large sports complexes, a main bus garage and is on the route of the old road leading to Thrace, there are several other major roads along with a light railway that runs through its central areas. Bayrampasa has sizeable areas of land that could have been used for luxury high class residential accommodation but are today occupied by large industrial organisations and this area is an important centre for manufacturing.
