Buyuk Camlica or Big Pine Wood Park Istanbul

Buyuk Camlica or Big Pine Wood Park Istanbul
The park is located on Mt. Bulgurlu and is the highest point in Istanbul standing at 262m, and was once a famous and very popular place of beauty that has been written about by different writers that include Procopius, Evilya Çelebi, Lady Mary Wortley Montagu, and Lord Byron. There is a lovely Ottoman style coffee house along with a restaurant that has private picnic kiosks, and the views from here are simply stunning, although somewhat spoiled by the rows of telephone and radio masts. You can stroll on the paths shaded by the pine trees (çam) and from which the site acquired its name.
