Catalca Istanbul
Catalca is in East Thrace, a rural region of Istanbul that sits on a ridge between the Marmara and Black Seas and the whole area has an estimated population of over 80,000.  The majority of Catalca’s residents are either farmers or people visiting their holiday homes, and many people from Istanbul come to Catalca on weekends for picnics and to trek in the forest areas.

Catalca sits on 135km of coastline in an area of 1,715 square kilometres and is neighboured to the south by Silivri and the province of Tekirdag , to the west is Avcilar and to the east is Kucukcekmece and Arnavutkoy .  The Catalca and the Durusu lakes provide Istanbul with fresh water.
