Church of Hagia Paraskeve or St. Paraskevi

Church of Hagia Paraskeve or St. Paraskevi
This small church dates back to Byzantine times and can be found just inland from the waterfront on Baçtar street in Haskoy Istanbul . It was rebuilt in 1692 by Constantine Brankovanos who was a Governor of Wallachia and underwent extensive restoration in the early 19th century.  Inside the courtyard are several Byzantine gravestones, and women come here to pray for help in conceiving children, and Paraskeve’s feast day is still celebrated here on 26th July.
