Edirnekapi or Edirne Gate
At the very top of the Sixth Hill, this gate was the highest point in the whole of the city, standing at 77 metres and where conqueror Sultan Mehmed II rode into Constantinople in 1453. It was also known as the Gate of Charisius and the Gate of the Cemetery (Porta Polyandrum) because of the huge necropolises that stretched out west as they still do today.
