Fish Market or Balik Pazari Taksim Istanbul

Fish Market or Balik Pazari Taksim Istanbul
The Fish Market is next door to the Flower Arcade or Cicek Pasaji and was renovated recently as part of the Beyoglu Beautification Project, although unfortunately because of this has lost a lot of its original character, but it is still worth a visit.

Things to do

Dining in Fish Market Taksim

You can shop in the many delicatessens and greengrocers here or sample the fried mussels (midye tava) or Kokorec (grilled intestines) on offer.

Uc Horan Armenian Church

Nearby is the Armenian church, Uc Horan (Three Altars), which is also known as “the Church in the Cupboard”.
It is hidden behind double doors down a flight of stairs because at the time it was built non-Muslim religious buildings were forbidden to show above the skyline. The church was constructed in 1838 but it is on the site of a previous church that dates back to 1503.

Avrupa and Aslihan Passage

Also accessible from here is the beautiful Avrupa Pasaji ( European Arcade ) decorated with classical statues and is crammed full of antique and souvenir shops and also has the Aslihan Pasaji that sells a wide range of second-hand books.
