Goztepe has Sahil Yolu (coastline of Kadikoy) and Marmara Sea in the south, Merdivenkoy in the north, Erenkoy and Caddebostan in the east and Ciftehavuzlar in the west. The famous Bagdat Avenue runs through Goztepe and the city park here is the largest green area along the avenue and covering 10,000 square metres (2.5 acres).
In the early 1900’s this area was a very popular summer resort and had many historic wooden mansions, some of which were destroyed by fire, and many others made way for the modern buildings seen today, although there are still a few still standing.
