Further up the hill from the Cagaloglu Hamam in Sultanahmet Fatih is this grand building built in 1866 for the TC Ziraat Bank that now houses the Iranian Consulate.

It was designed by Domenico Stampa, an Italian architect and was the first consulate building constructed within the old city walls. There is a bust of Midhat Paşa who was a famous politician during the Turkish reform at the front of the building and directly opposite is the remains of the Hadım Hasan Paşa Medresesi that was designed and built for the Vizier to Sultan Mehmed III by architect Davut Ağa in 1595-97.
