Istanbul Ataturk Airport

Istanbul Ataturk Airport
Istanbul Ataturk Airport is Istanbul’s main international airport ( followed by Sabiha Gokcen Airport ) and the largest in Turkey in terms of passengers with a total of 45 million each year. The Turkish Chamber of Civil Engineers listed the airport as one of the 50 civil engineering feats in the country and in 2013 the Air Transport News awarded it as airport of the year.

Traveling from Ataturk Airport to Istanbul Center

Rail

The city centre can be accessed using the Light Rail Service (LRT) between Aksaray and the airport and runs through some of the major points of the European side of the city including the intercity bus terminal and takes approximately 35 minutes to reach Aksaray.

Havatas Airport Shuttle

The Airport Shuttle Services operated by Havataş run every half hour to Bakirkoy , Yenikapi , Aksaray , and Taksim Square and from the fast ferry terminal at Bakırköy there are services to Bostanci and Kadikoy .

Havas Bus

The Havas bus runs between the airport and the fast ferry terminal according to the ferry arrivals and departures schedule.

Municipality Buses

There are also municipal bus services that run to Taksim , Etiler and Kozyatagi , a much cheaper but also slower option than the Havatas service.

Driving to Airport

The airport is also reached through the coastal D-100 international road and the Trans-European Motorway (TEM).
