Suleymaniye Library Istanbul

The Süleymaniye Library was established by Suleyman the Magnificent in 1927 inside the madrasahs (religious schools) at the Suleymaniye Mosque and it is his books that make up the core of the library. Over the years many more books have been added from various places and it now houses over 74,000 manuscripts and printed books. The library opens seven days a week from 09:00-19:00 and is free to enter.
