Sultanahmet Mosque or The Blue Mosque Istanbul
Probably the most famous of Istanbul’s landmarks and most visited monument in the city began its construction in 1609. The blue colour of its internal decoration, from which it derives its name “Blue Mosque”, is what draws people to visit.  

Interior

With over 20,000 tiles manufactured by the İznik Kilns, and remain clear, with bright colours depicting flowers, trees and abstract designs and shows off the best period of Iznik ware.

Exterior

The courtyard, surrounded by a portico of 30 small domes and has the same dimensions as the mosque, is best entered through the beautiful and elegant west portal.

Royal Pavilion

The Royal Pavilion, now housing the Museum of Carpets , includes many priceless pieces and offers a glimpse of the history of Turkish carpets.
