Kilic Ali Pasa Mosque and Nusretiye MosqueThis run down dockland area is mixed with impressive Ottoman buildings such as the Kiliç Ali Paşa Mosque (situated in the Kilic Ali Pasa complex) dating from 1780 and the Nusretiye Mosque from 1822.

There is also a reference library, gift shop and café/restaurant where visitors can enjoy a glass of wine or Turkish coffee, watch passing boats and see the sun set over Sultanahmet and the Asian side of Istanbul .
Maritime MuseumThe Maritime Museum founded in 1897, is one of the most entertaining in Istanbul and largest of its kind in Turkey containing over 20,000 items. Although it has moved many times throughout its history it has been in its current location since 1961. The collection is split between two buildings; the one facing the water houses the impressively adorned Imperial barges which were used to ferry the Ottoman sultans along the Bosphorus and the largest one, dating from 1648, required 144 oarsmen to row it; the second is dedicated to the maritime history of the Ottoman Empire and Turkish Republic with a vast collection of weaponry, model ships, engravings and paintings, stamps, seals, navigational equipment, lights and clocks and items of Ataturk's private yacht all on display.
