LocationUskudar Ahmet III Fountain was built by Sultan Ahmet III in 1728 and is located in Üsküdar Square across from the quay.

Inscriptions on the Uskudar Ahmet Fountain
The wall facing the Bosphorus has verses inspired by Ahmed III and his son-in-law, Nevşehirli Ibrahim Paşa that were written in calligraphy by Ahmet III.
The Design of the FountainThe many aspects and ornamentation of the fountain give it a very different character and these include the many ‘S’ and ‘C’ curves used in its design, badges on the niches of the polygonal prisma body and how the polygonal body turns into a square prisma after a certain height.
On the side of the fountain are a number of vases with tulip, rose and chrysanthemum motifs and considered to be the most beautiful samples of artistic workmanship on the fountain. In addition are the muqarnases (three-dimensional decorations of Islamic architecture) and lancet arches that add to the brilliant aesthetic value of the fountain and what makes it one of the most beautiful in Istanbul .
