Yedikule, Belgrat, Silivri and Mevlana Gates
Yedikule GateThe Yedikule Kapi (gate) still in use today with a narrow entry and Byzantine eagle carved into the marble above.
Silivri GateNorth from here is the Silivri Kapi ( Silivri Gate ) although extensively restored there are areas around it that remain untouched.
Mevlana GateRestoration work has also been carried out on the Mevlana Kapi and as this gate was where the walls completion ended there is a Latin inscription here that reads “By the command of Theodosius, Constantine erected these strong fortifications in less than two months. Scarcely could Pallas [Athena] herself have built so strong a citadel in so short a time”.
