Akharakva Salavatli Ruins

Akharakva Salavatli Ruins
On the road from Sultanhisar leading to the village of Salavatli is the location of the Temple of Pluto, the god of Death, which sits on a sacred avenue where on both sides are the scattered remains of tomb monuments.

The temple is on the northern side of the village and dates back to the Hellenistic period and was built in the Ionic style. During the very early ages the local inhabitants would leave a bull as a sacrifice to the Gods inside the sulphurous caves in the hope of obtaining information about other worlds believing that geological events were linked to the Gods.
