Ekincik Bay Marmaris

Ekincik Bay Marmaris
Ekincik Bay is also known as Kurkculer Bay and sits between Marmaris and Dalyan , 40km southwest of Koycegiz , a half hour drive from Dalaman Airport and can be accessed by road or sea. The bay is one of the most popular visits of the Blue Cruise voyages and up to 50 or 60 yachts can be moored here each day.

Ekincik Beach

Ekincik’s 1,300m coast line has a beautiful beach with a backdrop of hills lush with pine trees, caverns and caves that can be accessed by boat or by swimming. Near the beach is a camping ground with good sanitation and cooking facilities.

Things to do in Ekincik

Visit Karacay and Semisce

Visit the small bays of Karaçay and Semisce only 20 minutes away or head east to Delikliburun which is a fascinating area where you can take a small boat and cross through a hole in the tip of the land; it is also known for its fantastic underwater scenes and is a perfect place to scuba dive.

Sultaniye Thermal Waters

Another interesting spot is Sultaniye Kaplıcaları (Sultaniye Thermal Waters) 12km from Ekincik and is the best place to take a mud bath and use the natural healing spa.

Ekincik Harbour and Kaunos City

Ekincik Harbour is on the Western Cape entrance of Ekincik’s inlet and is covered in green pine forests and is where the ancient ruins of  Kaunos are located. In the middle of the inlet is a grassy plain with the village of Ekincik situated at the back. The villagers operate motorboats that will take you to  Kaunos and it’s a delightful and safe place for yachts to drop anchor.

Sarigerme and Rafting on Dalaman River

Why not visit the wonderful sandy beaches of  Sarigerme where you will find a delightful holiday village hidden amongst the pine forest and you can also go rafting on the  Dalaman River, the best time for this is from May to October.

Famous People that Visited Ekincik Bay

Famous celebrities are known to visit here and you may well find yourself rubbing shoulders with the likes of Prince Charles, Princess Caroline, Dustin Hoffman, Sting and Pamela Anderson who are all regular visitors. Famous writers have called Ekincik  The Secret Heaven where you will see every hue and tone of blue and green blending into the sea and forest offering its visitors a wonderful sight.

Traveling to Ekincik Bay

There are buses available from 09:00 every day from Köyceğiz to Ekincik Bay and by car it can be easily reached via the village of Hamitköy.
