Orhaniye Marmaris

Orhaniye Marmaris
Orhaniye is located 1½ hours from Dalaman Airport , Bodrum is just 30 minutes away and it’s 25km from the bustling town of Marmaris.

Orhaniye is divided in two, first by the valley of Kecibuku where both sides of the road leading to Kizkumu have the restaurants and then by the main part of the village and circles around behind the shoreline.

Kizkumu Beach

The bay of Orhaniye is also known as “Kecibuku” (Goat Bay) and locals refer to it as Kizkumu Beach , which means Maiden’s Sand, and this 600m x 2m wide strip of sand can be walked across to reach the bay.

Legend of Kizkumu Beach

Orhaniye is famous for this as it has a legend attached to it that tells of a local girl wanting to meet with her lover, she placed sand in the hem of her skirt to put into the sea to create a path to reach him, and as she did not have enough sand she unfortunately drowned; today it is very popular with tourists who come here to literally “walk on water”!

Marti Marina

It is home to the Marti Marina, the largest marina on the Bozburun Peninsula, where many private yachts moor as it sits in an area where the best sailing can be found on the Mediterranean.

Accommodation and Restaurants in Orhaniye

There is a wide range of accommodation to suit everyone, B&B’s, hotels, apartments and luxury villas, and has many restaurants offering traditional Turkish to International 5-star cuisine and serve fresh sea food and fish caught daily by the local fishermen.
