Best Things to do in Bozcaada

Best Things to do in Bozcaada

Castle of Bozcaada

In ancient times the castle was known as Tenedos and is a good place to start a tour of the island. This is one of the most prominent castles in the Aegean area and has been attacked and changed hands at various times throughout history and was important to the Genoese, Venetians and in 1464 became part of the Ottoman Empire.

Ayazma Beach

This the best known beach on the island, has golden sand, cool crystal clear water, sun loungers and umbrellas and restaurants with showers.  Unfortunately it gets very crowded at the height of the season and if you want to ensure a good spot you need to get here early in the day.

Akvaryum Cove

This is another very popular pristine sandy beach that has gorgeous turquoise blue water and although it has no sun loungers of umbrellas it can also become very over crowded during the main summer months and is best to get here as early as possible.

Visit the Vineyards

Although the name Bozcaada translates to barren island it is far from that having many trees and green lush vineyards that produce some very nice wine, so much so the wine here is as plentiful as water.  For further information click here destination-info/other/bozcaada

Bozcaada Museum of Local History

This is a great place to visit for a few hours and to learn about the island and its past. Visitor’s here can see exhibits of documents, photographs and ethnographical artefacts.
