Banks in Turkey, Credit Cards and Cash Machines
Opening HoursThe banks in Turkey are open Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 12:00 and from 1:30 pm to 5:00 pm. Some of the private banks with large branches, such as Garanti Bank, are also open Saturdays from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm.
Queuing at BanksWhen you enter the bank, you will need to get a ticket from the automated queuing system machine, and wait until your number appears on the screen.
Using Credit Cards in TurkeyMajor credit cards are accepted in the majority of the hotels, shops, restaurants etc. The card machines use the chip and pin system.
ATM Cash MachinesYou can use the ATM cash machines to cash out money, which is available even in small towns. Some of the banks that have cash machines include IsBank, Yapi Kredi Bank, AkBank, Koc Bank, HSBC and Oyak Bank. If you use your credit card to cash out money, your local bank will charge you 2.75% commission plus transaction fee.
