Currency in Turkey – Turkish Lira

Currency in Turkey – Turkish Lira
The currency of Turkey is Turkish Lira. The notes are 5, 10, 20, 50, 100 and 200 lira, while the coins are 5, 10, 25, 50 kurus.
If you are travelling to a touristic resort, the majority of the businesses accept Euro, Pound or Dollar. You can use foreign money to pay for the hotel or to buy souvenirs. However, we would advice you to pay in Turkish Lira as their conversion rates might not be attractive.
It is better to exchange your money while you are in Turkey as the rates are better than European countries. Exchange offices in major cities offer a better rate than touristic resorts.
