Getting a Turkish e-visa

Getting a Turkish e-visa
www.evisa.gov.tr is a new portal that allows foreigners visiting Turkey to obtain their visas online rather than queuing at the airports. After April 10th 2014, purchasing Turkish visas at the airports will no longer be available and all visitors will be advised to obtain their visas online (advised to apply a week prior to your flight). To get a visa online, you should have a passport which is valid for more than 6 months.  Visitors should also make sure to get a separate visa for their children and infants even if they are included in the parent's passport. Payment should be made with Mastercard or Visa card (except cards issued by Turkish banks) that has 3D Secure System. The payment will be in USD however you do not need to have a USD account (your bank will convert the amount to your own currency).   From the website, you should click Apply Now , make the application, click the approve button when you receive the e-mail address verification and make the payment within 24 hours. When the payment is received, the system will email you the e-visa, and ask you to Print it. You should have this paper with you during your visit.
Although there are companies that assist you to receive Turkish e-visas (that charge you a service fee), the online system of evisa.gov.tr/en is very basic and it would take you only couple of minutes to get your visa.
