Quince with Thick Turkish Cream
169gr of Sugar
600ml of Water
3 or 4 Cloves
1 teaspoon of Lemon Juice
4 tablespoon Double Cream or Turkish Kaymak
½ tablespoon of chopped Pistachios Nuts
½ tablespoon of blanched and sliced Almonds
How to prepare
Peel the quince and cut in half , remove the seeds and set them aside.
Place the quince, cut side up, in a shallow pan and sprinkle the sugar on top.
Add the water, cloves and quince seeds and cook on low until soft and a medium brown colour.
Place the quince on a serving dish
Add lemon juice to the quince syrup in the pan and cook for a couple of minutes.
Allow the syrup to cool before pouring over the quince.
Place in the fridge to chill for at least 4 hours.
Serve with a tablespoon of cream on top sprinkled with the pistachio and almond slices.
