Sekerpare - Almond Pastries
500 gr flour
100 gr castor sugar
200 gr butter
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1/2 teaspoon of baking powder
1 1/2 glasses of sugar
1 1/4 glasses of water
1/2 lemon juice
How to prepare
Boil 1 1/2 glasses of sugar, 1 1/4 glasses of water and lemon juice and let it simmer for 15 minutes.
Let this cool.
Beat the egg with sugar, add softened butter, salt and flour. Continue beating.
Knead it well.
Take large walnut size doughs and make bowls with your palms. Flatten it by pressing slightly.
Place these in an oiled oven plan.
Right in the middle, make a hole with your finger and place an almond.
Cook in the oven for around 45 minutes until the they get golden brown.
Pour the syrup over and let them stand for an hour.
