Walnut or Pine Nut Paste
100gr ground Walnuts or Pine Nuts
2 slices of dry Bread with crusts removed
2 cloves of Garlic crushed with salt
120ml of Olive Oil
Juice of ¼ Lemon or a tablespoon of Vinegar
½ teaspoon of Salt
How to prepare
Use a mortar and pestle to grind the nuts.
Soak the bread in water and then squeeze any excess what withh your hands.
Crumble the bread and add to nuts along with the garlic.
Slowly add the olive oil and lemon juice or vinegar beating constantly to a smooth paste.
This dish is usually served with seafood.
