Bulgur with Meat
200gr Bulgur Wheat washed and drained
500gr of Beef or Mutton diced into cubes
3 medium chopped Onions
2 peeled and chopped Tomatoes
6 tablespoons of Butter
400ml Beef or Lamb Stock
240ml warm Water
2 teaspoons of Salt
½ teaspoon of Pepper
How to prepare
This recipe makes 6 servings.
Melt 3 tablespoon of butter in a pan, add the onions and lightly brown them.
Add the meat and cover with a lid.
Cook on a medium heat stirring occasionally until the juice has evaporated.
Add a teaspoon of salt, the pepper, tomatoes and the water.
Cover and cook until tender, stirring occasionally until the liquid has evaporated again.
Add the stock and remove from the heat.
Melt the remaining butter in a pan.
Add the bulgur and cook on high for 10 minutes stirring constantly.
Add a teaspoon of salt then the meat and stock mixture.
Mix well cover and gently simmer until all the liquid has been absorbed.
Leave on a very low heat for 20 minutes.
Mix well with a wooden spoon before serving.
