Ingredients

250gr unsalted Butter (room temperature)
2 large Egg Yolks
75gr sweetend shredded Coconut
337.5gr sifted Flour
225gr Icing Sugar
1 teaspoon of Vanilla Extract
1 teaspoon of Baking Powder
To decorate: Egg white and 100gr of chopped Walnuts

How to prepare

This recipe makes 17-18 cookies.
Preheat the oven to 190˚C.
Place the coconut in a food processor and grind on a pulse setting.
Cream together the sugar, vanilla and butter, then mix in the egg yolks, vanilla extract and coconut.
Slowly add the flour and baking powder, knead the dough then form balls the size of a walnut.
Line an oven tray with parchment paper.
Dip one side of the dough ball into the egg, then the walnuts and place on the oven tray.
Bake for 25 minutes or until the cookie tops are a golden colour.
Put them on a wire rack to cool completely before serving.
The Turkish name for this dish is Hindistan Cevizli Kurabiye
