Galip Dede

Galip Dede
Galipdede Street or Road houses many of Istanbul’s music shops and winds itself all the way down hill to the Galata Tower .

Whilst on route and at No. 65 you will see the Teutonia that was built in 1847 for the German Club and went on to become a centre of Nazi propaganda leading up to the Second World War.  It is used today by the Goethe Institute that hosts German speaking events.  Heading down toward Karaköy the street leads into Yuksek Kaldirim which is Istanbul’s most infamous red-light district.
